Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to water systems, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has intensified attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in supplying air defence systems and applying penalties," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets struck the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the city came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
